LOS ANGELES, CA April 28th, 2008 - The fourth annual Los Angeles Black Book Expo
(LABBX) will be held Saturday, June 14, from 10:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. with a two
hour after party featuring networking and live entertainment on the Ahmanson Senior
Center, Exposition Park.

The black book expo will hold book signings, panel discussions with topics in
regards to publishing, topical issues based on genre and how to effectively market
your work through media. There is a spoken word venue, "Merilene Murphy's Spoken
Worlds" including poetry readings with featured artists and the first annual LABBX
Youth Poetry Fest with participants competing for a grand prize. The Children's
Literary Zone will present children's book authors, storytellers and the first
annual LABBX Young Authors Forum. Interactive contests will be held throughout the
day for the public to win prizes, such as a scavenger hunt, a 'Legends Guessing
Game" and "a buy-a-book, win a free meal contest".

Confirmed authors appearing at LABBX include: Alretha Thomas, Dr. William D.
Wright, Frederick Williams and Patryce "Choc'Let' Banks just to name a few.
